H1 is building a platform to provide optimal healthcare information globally, using data and AI to unlock medical insights and improve patient outcomes. The company partners with leading life sciences organizations to solve complex problems at the intersection of healthcare, data, and AI. As a Product Designer, you will own design end-to-end on high-impact initiatives across the H1 platform. This is an individual contributor role with real leadership scope—you'll own design solutions for your projects, work within the overall design direction, represent design with leadership, and contribute to how the team works. As the team grows, there's a natural path into people leadership for those interested. Key responsibilities include: - Lead design projects from problem definition through research, concept, prototyping, delivery, and post-launch iteration - Move quickly from ambiguity to clear direction, making sound decisions with incomplete information - Simplify complex, data-heavy workflows to make them clear, fast, and intuitive - Identify where AI can meaningfully improve user workflows and design those experiences thoughtfully, including trust, transparency, and error handling - Present work, rationale, and tradeoffs to senior leadership and incorporate feedback - Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to scope and ship - Run or guide user research and usability testing to shape decisions - Maintain and evolve the design system - Raise the design bar through critique, informal mentoring, and sharing best practices - Flag risks, dependencies, and timelines early; manage multiple shifting priorities You are naturally curious about how products work and enjoy understanding systems, workflows, and data models. You thrive in ambiguity, proactively identify opportunities, and work cross-functionally. You understand that enterprise product design solves complex problems and simplifies difficult workflows. You are adaptable, collaborative, and open to feedback while maintaining focus on meaningful customer outcomes. REQUIREMENTS: - 7+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showing projects led from start to finish - Proven track record simplifying complex user flows with heavy data elements - Excellent written and verbal communication, including confident presentation to executives and non-design stakeholders - Ability to work autonomously: scope ambiguous problems, make decisions, keep work moving without day-to-day direction - Comfort in fast-paced, high-ownership environment: balance speed and quality, stay steady when timelines are tight or priorities change - Experience working with engineers in an agile environment - Proficiency with Figma, Claude, Jira, Excel, and similar tools - Leadership presence: informally mentored or guided other designers; ready to grow into formal people management STRONGLY PREFERRED: - Experience designing AI-powered features or workflows - Experience in healthcare, life sciences, medical technology, or other data-intensive, high-stakes domains - Experience at a startup or scale-up, or in another fast-moving environment - Prior experience managing or leading designers
