Celonis is the global leader in Process Intelligence and Process Mining technology. As a Principal Consultant - Data and AI (internally called a Deployment Engineer/Architect), you will be the backbone of Celonis delivery, leading hands-on implementation of Celonis solutions for enterprise customers.
You will combine deep platform expertise with AI-augmented workflows to deliver high-quality outcomes rapidly. This is not a traditional consulting role where you build everything manually. Instead, you are an AI-augmented delivery professional: you specify what needs to be built, direct AI agents (like Apollo) to execute wherever possible, validate results, and iterate with the customer. You generate value by understanding the customer's business, translating needs into technical specifications, and ensuring the platform delivers measurable impact.
Key responsibilities include:
**Initiate and Connect:** Conduct business discovery workshops to translate strategic objectives into high-impact use cases. Collaborate with customer IT and business stakeholders to define scope, data requirements, and success criteria. Ensure data connectivity and extraction pipelines are properly configured.
**Build & Value:** Direct AI deployment agents to build data models, process analyses, KPIs, and dashboards. Build and configure Celonis solutions across the platform including Process Intelligence Graph, data transformations, process analysis, operational solutions, and AI-powered insights. Identify process inefficiencies using Celonis technology in close collaboration with customers. Validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy and business relevance. Lead value creation workshops and define improvement measures. Design and build operational solutions to drive adoption and improve process conformance.
**Rollout, Adoption, and Handover:** Enable key customer users to use and extend solutions independently. Manage project outcomes against timelines and expectations. Train and demonstrate to customer users. Document solution design decisions and configurations.
**Domain & Industry Depth:** Develop deep expertise in process domains (Supply Chain, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, IT Service Management) or industry verticals. Translate domain knowledge into scalable solution patterns and best practices. Identify and standardize high-value use cases within your domain.
In the AI era, your role has elevated: as AI agents take on more technical build work, you focus on understanding business-critical problems, designing solutions, and quantifying delivered value. You own the judgment, architecture, and customer relationships that AI cannot replace. You direct agentic systems while owning solution go-live, adoption, initial value realization, and long-term customer success.
