HoneyBook is seeking a hands-on Lead Motion Designer to own motion end-to-end across the platform—from concept and script through design, animation, and launch. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone with genuine curiosity about emerging technology who wants to shape modern, AI-driven workflows. You will spend most of your time creating and animating, while directing freelancers when projects require additional scale. Key responsibilities include: • Directly create and animate end-to-end assets including ads, tutorials, product videos, and brand moments from initial brief to final shipped deliverable. • Build AI-native workflows using tools like Weave, Krea, and Midjourney to automate production, accelerate R&D, and establish a distinct HoneyBook motion style. • Direct external talent by serving as creative lead for freelance motion artists—briefing, reviewing, and maintaining HoneyBook's quality bar when project scale requires additional hands. • Connect motion to metrics by partnering with marketing, product, and engineering to create work that drives business goals, not just visual appeal. • Set up studio systems by defining processes, tooling, and workflows to build an efficient, scalable motion practice. HoneyBook is an AI-powered business management platform for service-based professionals, founded in 2013 and headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Tel Aviv. The company has powered over 25 million client relationships and processed more than $12 billion in transactions. The Design organization is multi-disciplinary, including Product Design, Brand and Marketing Design, Motion Design, and User Research, all working cross-functionally to serve independent business owners. The company culture emphasizes collaboration, feedback, ownership, and growth mindset. You'll be joining a mission-driven organization where members' success is central, with a fast-paced environment that encourages innovation and out-of-the-box thinking. REQUIREMENTS: • 7+ years of hands-on motion graphics and creative direction • Portfolio demonstrating range across script-to-screen, live-action, and 3D work • Uncompromising craft and taste; love of being in the tool with exceptional art direction • Full-stack maker capability: comfortable executing at every stage (script, storyboard, frame, animation) and knowing when to pivot to live-action or 3D • AI-fluent mindset: ability to leverage AI to automate routine tasks while focusing on complex, high-craft frames • Strategic storytelling ability: connecting audience insights to compelling creative with understanding that great stories beat shiny visuals
