Salary: USD 99,000 - 130,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Lead, IT Hardware Procurement to manage IT equipment sourcing, vendor relationships, and inventory forecasting. This role sits within IT Asset Management (ITAM) and is critical to maintaining healthy inventory levels, supplier relationships, and budget adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase IT equipment, hardware, peripherals, and services with focus on quality and cost-effectiveness
- Manage vendor relationships, ensure timely delivery, and address issues or discrepancies; collaborate with Supply Chain on RFI/RFQ and supplier audits
- Forecast IT equipment needs in collaboration with ITAM and other departments, ensuring alignment with budget and project timelines
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize excess or obsolete inventory
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, new products, and pricing
- Prepare and manage IT procurement budget; collaborate with Finance and Accounting on budget adherence and AP schedules
- Develop comprehensive procurement strategies using market research and deployment data to optimize spend and secure favorable rates
- Lead a team of procurement coordinators in daily operations, ensuring timely and consistent service to internal stakeholders
- Work with ITAM leadership to develop and implement policies supporting financial stewardship, fair distribution, and sustainable growth
The role requires someone who can balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, manage cross-functional relationships, and drive operational efficiency in a fast-paced defense technology environment. You'll need to stay current on IT hardware trends and market dynamics while maintaining strong vendor partnerships.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-4 years of experience buying IT equipment and services
- Strong negotiation, planning, and forecasting skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP tools; Oracle Fusion experience preferred
- In-depth understanding of procurement principles and best practices
- Experience in IT Asset Management and/or Finance strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Relevant certifications in procurement or IT asset management are a plus
- Preferred experience with asset management systems like Oomnitza
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
