Acclinate is seeking a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and operate the data infrastructure powering analytics, CRM, marketing, and machine learning initiatives. This role combines technical execution with analytical leadership to establish a connected, reliable data environment that enables insight-driven decision making across clinical trial engagement efforts. Key responsibilities include: **Architecture & Strategy**: Design event-driven data models and schemas; architect data integration strategies combining event-driven systems with existing sources; co-develop Acclinate's long-term data strategy aligned with business objectives; contribute to data governance frameworks including ownership, stewardship, quality standards, and metadata management. **Data Operations & Execution**: Build and maintain efficient ETL/ELT pipelines (n8n, GCP/BigQuery) transforming event streams into unified data environments; manage HubSpot property design and BigQuery integration; build and maintain Metabase dashboards and shared metrics libraries; own data needs for production ML models including feature engineering and VertexAI management; build daily ingestion pipelines from Meta, Instagram, YouTube, Google Analytics, and Typeform; manage external data partnerships with appropriate security and compliance controls. **Quality & Reliability**: Define and monitor freshness, completeness, and accuracy checks on critical tables; triage pipeline failures and data incidents; maintain data documentation, runbooks, and onboarding materials; apply engineering best practices including version control, code review, and automated testing; manage BigQuery and GCP costs through query optimization and storage tiering. **Compliance & Security**: Partner with engineering and legal teams to implement data security controls and access management; ensure adherence to data privacy regulations for PII and sensitive health information; maintain least-privilege access controls and periodic access reviews; produce compliance evidence artifacts for audits. This is a hands-on role equally responsible for long-term architectural strategy and day-to-day engineering, pipeline maintenance, and reporting work. You'll partner closely with data, engineering, marketing, community, and customer success teams to unify distributed data sources and translate complex healthcare, community, and operational data into actionable intelligence.
