Relativity Space is building Terran R, a commercial launch vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. The Reliability team ensures quality is embedded throughout the design and production process, working closely with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams.
In this role, you will own reliability and quality systems for the structures subsystem, balancing speed with safety as the program scales from development into production. Your responsibilities span multiple domains:
Design: Standardize drawings, conduct design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews, and manage configuration control to ensure structural designs are robust and producible.
Planning: Review work instructions, develop manufacturing processes, and document standard rework and repair procedures to maintain quality at scale.
Manufacturing: Conduct in-process build verification, coordinate traveled work, and embed quality checks throughout the production workflow.
Testing & Launch: Collaborate with test and launch teams to validate structural performance and ensure readiness for flight.
You will establish processes, controls, and inspections that scale with the Terran R program without compromising speed. This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you'll shape the quality culture, own technical decisions, and see your work directly influence a rocket in production. You'll work autonomously across teams, solve novel problems, and help define how Relativity builds reliable hardware at scale.
