Gusto is seeking a senior AV engineer to serve as the design authority for audiovisual technology across the company's entire physical footprint and as technical director for company events. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant ownership and scope.
You will author and maintain the AV standard that every Gusto site and integrator builds against, owning the multi-site capital roadmap and vendor relationships. You'll design and direct all high-profile productions including company-wide meetings, the flagship multi-day customer event, fireside chats, and podcast productions. Key responsibilities include designing, testing, and implementing AV technology across Gusto's offices in San Francisco, Denver, New York, Burlingame, and Scottsdale; leading the technical workstream of the company's Zoom-to-Google Meet migration (resetting 200+ conference rooms); administering AV SaaS offerings including Google Meet and Zoom room fleets, Logitech and Neat endpoints, and streaming platforms; and serving as the escalation path for the IT support team on meeting space technology and events.
You'll use AI tools to automate repetitive work—room health reporting, standards documentation, show-control logic, and vendor analysis—building tooling rather than maintaining spreadsheets. You'll also coach the IT team and event technicians to own tier-one AV and day-of production, ensuring knowledge transfer and reducing single points of failure.
