Thunes is a global fintech infrastructure company operating a Direct Global Network that enables real-time payments across 130+ countries and 80+ currencies. The network connects to over 7 billion mobile wallets and bank accounts via 350+ payment methods, serving clients including Uber, Deliveroo, Grab, WeChat, and major financial institutions. As a KYC Officer reporting to the CDD Team Lead in Manila, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive Know Your Customer analysis and due diligence on Payment Service Providers, Banks, and regulated/non-regulated entities globally. This role sits at the intersection of compliance, legal, sales, and product functions. Key responsibilities include: conducting end-to-end KYC analysis using government records, vendor databases, and public sources; performing screening on customers, connected parties, and beneficial owners to identify adverse media and PEP hits; analyzing historical transactions of existing customers to assess risk; communicating with clients and account managers on outstanding compliance items; and supporting compliance projects under managerial supervision. You will need 3–5 years of hands-on KYC experience with a focus on corporate and bank customer onboarding. A Bachelor's degree and professional compliance qualification (ICA, ACAMS, CFE, or equivalent) are required. Proficiency with name screening tools such as World-Check is essential. You should demonstrate strong expertise in risk and regulatory compliance from a regulated financial services environment, with solid understanding of payment products and corporate structures. Strong stakeholder management, ability to work under pressure, and comfort with process ambiguity are critical. Fintech or payments industry experience is a plus. Native or professional fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; additional language skills are advantageous.
