Catawiki is a curated online marketplace for buying and selling special objects, with over 25 million items sold to date. The company operates across 80+ categories with a team of 800+ employees across 60+ nationalities. As a Key Business Developer based in Italy, you will identify, acquire, and grow high-potential sellers in the jewellery and precious stones categories. Your mission is to expand Catawiki's seller network across Italy and selected European markets by creating long-term commercial partnerships with high-quality suppliers. Key Responsibilities: - Drive seller acquisition by identifying and prospecting high-potential leads in Italy and other European markets through calls, email outreach, field visits, trade fairs, and referrals. - Build strategic seller relationships by onboarding and nurturing jewellery and precious stones sellers, focusing on manufacturers, producers, and established suppliers. - Create long-term growth opportunities by developing commercial growth plans with Account Managers, Experts, and Category Managers. - Use data to unlock seller potential by analysing seller performance and identifying opportunities to improve KPIs such as object submissions, average object value, and sell-through rate. - Deliver an exceptional seller experience by ensuring smooth onboarding and acting as a trusted commercial advisor throughout the seller lifecycle. - Support European market expansion by identifying partnership opportunities and sharing buyer-demand and category insights. You will work closely with Sales, Experts, and Category Managers in a highly collaborative and international environment. The role combines relationship-driven sales with data-driven decision-making. Occasional travel within Italy and Europe is expected. Requirements: - Commercial sales or business development experience with a proven ability to drive growth and build strong client relationships. - Industry knowledge and existing network within the jewellery and/or precious stones sector, ideally including jewellery manufacturers, producers, wholesalers, or other relevant suppliers. - Fluent Italian and English with confidence to build relationships and work effectively across international and European markets. - Highly independent, entrepreneurial, and proactive approach with ability to take ownership, prioritise effectively, and drive opportunities forward autonomously. - Strong relationship-building skills with ability to influence and engage stakeholders across different levels. - Analytical and data-driven mindset with ability to translate insights into actionable commercial strategies. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills across phone, email, in-person meetings, and cross-functional collaboration. - Experience using CRM and sales tooling (HubSpot experience considered a plus). - Passion for special objects and e-commerce with curiosity about the luxury market.
