Inferact, founded by the creators and core maintainers of vLLM, is building the world's AI inference engine to accelerate AI progress by making inference cheaper and faster. The company sits at the intersection of models and hardware.
We are seeking an IT Support & Operations Engineer to own the internal technology environment that keeps Inferact employees productive and secure. This is a hands-on operator role—not a traditional help desk position and not a CISO-level security role. You will be the primary owner of day-to-day IT support, employee onboarding and offboarding, application and account provisioning, endpoint management, identity and access controls, SaaS administration, office technology, and ongoing cleanup and improvement of internal systems.
You will combine strong service instincts with practical systems and security judgment, working closely with a highly technical engineering team. A key part of the role is building automation and repeatable processes so Inferact can scale without unnecessary operational friction.
30-60-90 Day Milestones:
- 30 Days: Take ownership of core IT operations including employee support, device management, application provisioning, onboarding, and access. Audit the current environment to identify gaps in accounts, permissions, endpoints, and security controls.
- 60 Days: Standardize onboarding, offboarding, identity, access, and endpoint security workflows. Clean up stale accounts, inconsistent permissions, and unmanaged devices. Begin automating repetitive IT processes.
- 90 Days: Build a scalable IT operations foundation with clear standards for devices, access, SaaS administration, and employee security. Establish repeatable processes and automation to support growth without creating unnecessary operational or security risk.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience owning application and systems provisioning, including onboarding new employees, managing ongoing access changes, and deprovisioning users cleanly.
- Strong understanding of identity, access, and endpoint security, with ability to improve device security and reduce risk of unauthorized access to company information or credentials.
- Experience improving or cleaning up an existing IT environment, including addressing access, device, and security posture gaps that need standardization as the company grows.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to support and work closely with a highly technical engineering organization on access, device, and systems issues.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and take broad ownership in a fast-growing startup environment where dedicated IT processes are still being built.
Preferred:
- Experience as a senior or early IT hire at a startup or rapidly growing technology company.
- Prior experience supporting engineering-heavy or technically sophisticated organizations.
