Alan is a prevention-focused health insurance company serving 1M+ members across 40K+ companies, with €800M+ ARR and 800+ employees across 5+ countries. The company integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a unified platform and is scaling internationally. This IT Engineer role owns critical internal technology infrastructure that every employee depends on. The position spans four main domains: platform & automation (provisioning engine, helpdesk automation, meeting room systems), identity & access (employee lifecycle management, role-based access control, SaaS procurement), endpoint & SaaS security (Mac fleet management via Kandji, Cloudflare WARP, ISO 27001 compliance), and health professionals IT (clinic tooling and healthcare worker access). You'll be staffed on one or two areas at a time based on strengths and interests, evolving with company needs. In the first three months, you'll acquire technical knowledge of Alan's platform stack (Alan Home, Google Workspace/SSO, Kandji, Cloudflare WARP), ship an end-to-end project increment, and join the IT on-call escalation team. By six months, you'll own a workstream independently, deliver an automation or hardening initiative, reduce bus factor through documentation, and mentor teammates. Within a year, you'll deliver measurable IT toil reduction, set technical standards in your domain, build cross-functional partnerships, and contribute to hiring. The role requires 4-5+ years in IT engineering, platform, systems, or corporate engineering with real ownership of production systems. You need depth in at least one core area (platform, identity, or security) plus demonstrated range beyond it. You must write code regularly (Python, APIs, pull requests), think systematically about problem-solving and failure modes, and have comfort with regulated healthcare environments (ACPR, ISO 27001, HDS). Strong automation and AI appetite is expected. Behaviorally, you need ownership and autonomy to drive topics forward, excellent written communication (Alan is written-first), pragmatic judgment balancing perfect vs. good enough, and strong documentation discipline.
