Salary: USD 120,000 - 180,000 / annual
Panthalassa is a renewable energy and ocean technology company developing devices that capture ultra-low-cost renewable energy from the ocean for computing and renewable fuel applications. The company is a public benefit corporation backed by leading venture capitalists and philanthropic investors, headquartered in Portland, Oregon.
You will own the business platforms and integrations that power daily operations across the company. This role combines platform administration, API-driven automation, and cross-functional partnership to eliminate manual handoffs and build reliable workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
**Business Platform Administration:** Manage Google Workspace tenant configuration, organizational units, Drive governance, email security, and capability rollouts. Administer Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence including projects, workflows, custom fields, forms, permission schemes, automation rules, and reporting. Own Slack workspace configuration including channel standards, app approvals, retention, and governance. Maintain clear administration models defining who can change what and how changes are reviewed.
**Integrations and Automation:** Design and build integrations between business systems using APIs, webhooks, and automation platforms. Write and maintain code that automates recurring work across SaaS tools with version control, monitoring, and error handling. Replace manual processes and shadow spreadsheets with reliable, observable workflows. Own reliability including alerting and runbooks.
**Business Partnership:** Work with Finance, People Ops, Legal, and Engineering to translate process problems into system designs. Drive intake, requirements, and rollout for new business applications. Build reporting and dashboards for team visibility. Document configurations and workflows for continuity.
**SaaS Stack Health:** Maintain application inventory including ownership, license counts, and renewal dates. Right-size licensing and surface underused spend. Partner with the IAM Engineer on SSO and automated provisioning. Own the application layer of compliance frameworks (NIST or equivalent) including access control, audit logging, and data retention.

**Requirements:**
- Experience administering business platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Atlassian products, or Slack at an organization of meaningful size
- Experience writing code against SaaS APIs to automate work the admin console couldn't do
- Experience designing and maintaining integrations between business systems using REST APIs, webhooks, or an integration platform
- Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, understand underlying process problems, and propose system solutions
- Ability to write clear documentation for both administrators and end users
**Desired Qualifications:**
- Atlassian experience: Jira workflow and permission scheme design, JSM request types and queues, Confluence space administration
- Google Workspace administration experience including Drive governance, Vault, and security settings
- Scripting and development skills (Python, JavaScript, or Google Apps Script) with source control and testing practices
- SaaS lifecycle management experience: evaluation, implementation, renewal, and license optimization
- Familiarity with SSO and SCIM from the application administrator's perspective
- Experience supporting security or compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or equivalent)
**Additional Requirements:**
- Available for occasional off-hours work to support platform migrations and integration cutovers outside business hours
- Travel to Portland office quarterly if working remotely
- Intermittently able to work longer hours to support critical needs
