Tanium seeks an experienced IT Audit Manager to lead and expand its audit and compliance program. This role manages a globally distributed team of auditors and owns the end-to-end audit lifecycle, from methodology development to remediation tracking.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and scaling Tanium's audit program with standardized processes, templates, and methodologies
- Leading and coaching a distributed audit team across multiple time zones, assigning work and monitoring progress
- Developing audit KPIs and reporting critical metrics to leadership (budget, deficiencies, quality, program maturity)
- Ensuring audit report quality and actionable findings
- Coordinating with external auditors and assessors on logistics and deficiency treatment
- Establishing and tracking plans of action for identified control gaps
- Advising senior leadership on audit findings, control weaknesses, and risk mitigation strategies
- Monitoring emerging regulations and technologies affecting the audit program
- Partnering cross-functionally to implement audit principles across the organization
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience leading audit or compliance functions in a similar managerial role
- Strong project management skills with ability to lead teams to deliver within defined timelines and budgets
- Expert knowledge of ISO 27000 series and SOC 2 Type II frameworks
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800, FISMA, and exposure to multiple frameworks (TISAX, ISO 27701, PCI-DSS, GDPR, NIS2, EU AI Act, etc.)
- Experience tracking and driving remediation of control deficiencies
- Technical aptitude in cloud infrastructure and SaaS technologies
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across diverse, cross-functional teams
Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
This is a hybrid role requiring in-person attendance several days per week at one of five US locations.
