The Exploration Company is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the integration and certification process for the Nyx spacecraft missions to the International Space Station (ISS). This role sits at the intersection of technical systems engineering and program management, requiring deep aerospace expertise and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
You will own end-to-end integration and certification of the Nyx spacecraft, from certification plan development through final NASA approval. Key responsibilities include coordinating with NASA and ESA on all ISS integration matters, implementing the bilateral integration and verification plan, supporting safety reviews and hazard control verification, tracking V&V activities tied to ISS requirements, and preparing the spacecraft for critical joint reviews (Post-Qualification, Integration/Vehicle Acceptance, Stage Operations Readiness, and Flight Readiness reviews). You will also assess and manage integration risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure Nyx design and operations meet NASA's rigorous interface, safety, and verification standards.
This is a technical leadership role—you will guide engineering teams and collaborate across the organization, but the focus is on systems-level problem-solving and stakeholder coordination rather than people management. The role demands strong technical depth in spacecraft systems, safety processes, and ISS operations, combined with project management discipline and the ability to synthesize complex inputs into actionable plans.
The ideal candidate brings 5–10 years of aerospace systems engineering experience, with at least 3 years in ISS Visiting Vehicle integration, operations, or certification. A bachelor's degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field is required. You should be comfortable with general spacecraft systems engineering, safety and operations products, and have a proven track record of building trust with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
