Vensure Employer Solutions, the largest privately held HR technology and service provider in the sector, is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to support and advance payroll operations for a rapidly growing client base. The company collectively serves over 95,000 businesses and processes over $135B in annual payroll.
In this role, you will manage an assigned book of business and oversee all payroll-related processing activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional client service. You'll resolve complex payroll issues with accuracy and urgency while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include managing client payroll submissions to meet established deadlines, performing routine and targeted audits to verify payroll data accuracy, and responding promptly to client inquiries via email, phone, and case management systems.
You will collaborate with cross-functional partners in Finance, Tax, and Production to streamline processes and address client needs efficiently. The role includes adhering to assigned phone schedules and remaining available in the phone queue for incoming client inquiries. You'll also serve as a mentor and subject-matter expert to Payroll Specialists and Payroll Associates, providing guidance, coaching, and support. Additional responsibilities include documenting and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), leading or supporting ad hoc projects assigned by management, and contributing to departmental initiatives and organizational improvement projects.
This is an in-office position based at the Chandler, Arizona corporate office, with regular attendance at the assigned work location being an essential job function.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant non-traditional degree programs/job training programs)
- 1+ year in client support or customer service role
- 1+ year of payroll experience preferred but not required
- In-depth knowledge of customer service best practices
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn other applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to shifting priorities
- Must be coachable and open to feedback for continuous improvement
