Revolut is a global financial super app serving 80+ million customers with products spanning spending, saving, investing, exchanging, and travel. The Legal team provides strategic counsel across the business to enable rapid growth while maintaining compliance and protection.
As IP Counsel, you'll be a key member of a lean, high-impact legal team (two lawyers plus paralegal support) responsible for managing Revolut's intellectual property strategy on a global scale. This is a hands-on role with direct influence over how IP strategy evolves across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and managing Revolut's global IP portfolio through proactive trademark and patent registration
- Managing IP infringement claims and defensive IP processes to limit losses and mitigate risks
- Providing legal guidance across business units globally, including product approval processes before launch
- Handling pre-dispute matters and active litigation related to IP infringement in UK and international markets
- Advising on novel technological products and features requiring creative legal solutions
- Acting as a business partner by identifying compliant pathways forward rather than blocking progress
- Drafting, preparing, and prosecuting patent applications before the EPTO and international patent offices
- Conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searches to assess innovation viability and identify infringement risks
