The Farmer's Dog is seeking an Inventory and COGS Accounting Manager to lead financial integrity across inventory and cost of goods sold operations. This is a hands-on management role responsible for owning monthly close processes, managing accounting controls, and partnering with Operations, FP&A, and third-party logistics providers to ensure accurate and timely reporting in the ERP system. Key responsibilities include leading the monthly close process for inventory and COGS with journal entries, reconciliations, and internal reporting; ensuring accurate inventory costing and valuation including landed cost, freight, duties, and variances; owning the inventory subledger and general ledger alignment; overseeing purchase accrual processes with Procurement and AP teams; building, managing, and mentoring the Inventory Accounting group; monitoring and analyzing inventory movements including in-transit, consignment, write-offs, and returns; driving process improvements and documentation of policies and procedures; and partnering with FP&A and Operations to provide timely analysis of COGS trends and inventory insights. The Farmer's Dog is a venture-backed direct-to-consumer pet food company that has delivered over 1 billion meals and raised over $150M in funding. The company is disrupting the $90 billion pet food industry by replacing processed pellets with personalized, freshly-made dog food subscriptions.
