Apple is seeking an Engagement Optimization Manager to join the International TV team, serving as the subject-matter expert in understanding how customers across international markets engage with the Apple TV App and Apple TV titles. This role combines deep analytical expertise with a passion for TV, film, and digital media, translating complex platform data into clear insights that drive measurable performance improvements.
Key responsibilities include analyzing data across the TV App Platform, pre-roll, and post-play to understand customer discovery and engagement patterns. You will review platform creative performance to ensure titles are presented optimally for each geography, partnering with local teams to build effective creative suites. You'll evaluate the efficacy of programming and collections, leading the understanding of how different programming levers impact impressions and play rates, using daily metrics to recommend adjustments and serve customers the right content at the right time.
The role involves tracking high-level viewership data, benchmarking titles against comparables and goals, and monitoring completion and progression rates to identify opportunities or flag concerns requiring strategic intervention. You will identify and champion optimizations to platform personalization, building data-backed business cases for product improvements and working cross-functionally to implement these ideas. You'll develop strategies to increase engagement based on KPI benchmarks and share learnings broadly with international stakeholders to ensure a cohesive global platform experience.
Required qualifications include 7+ years in streaming media, entertainment platforms, or digital subscription businesses with dedicated focus on growth analytics, engagement strategy, or product data science. Advanced proficiency in SQL and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Looker) is essential, along with deep technical understanding of content discovery mechanisms, algorithms, recommendation systems, and user engagement patterns. Strong foundation in statistical analysis and experimental design (A/B and multivariate testing) is required, as is demonstrated success building business cases and influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority. Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex data to executive leadership are critical.
Preferred qualifications include advanced proficiency in Python or R for behavioral analysis and predictive modeling, 5+ years operating in international or regional capacity, and deep passion for movies, TV content, and digital media.
