Adyen is seeking an Internal Control Specialist focused on non-financial compliance risks (particularly integrity risk) to join the global Internal Control team in Amsterdam. This role contributes to powering Adyen's sustainable growth by assessing and strengthening the company's global operational processes and internal control framework.
You will work proactively and independently in a complex, fast-paced global environment, supporting Adyen in building a strong business while preserving company culture and achieving long-term goals. The role emphasizes critical thinking, challenging the status quo, and continuous improvement rather than box-ticking compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strengthen and manage the global internal control framework with focus on integrity risk, supporting management on internal control matters
- Evaluate Adyen's operational processes, risks, and controls to identify improvement and automation opportunities
- Coordinate and perform control testing (integrity risk focus) and report on effectiveness of risk and control systems
- Manage auditor requests for successful audit cycles (SOC1/SOC2, etc.)
- Build networks and advise business stakeholders (Compliance, Regulatory teams) to strengthen the compliance control framework and contribute to projects like SIRA
- Collaborate with Internal Control team peers on global framework management and projects (new products, licenses, RCAs)

Requirements:
- Approximately 4-7 years of relevant working experience in external audit, operational risk management, or internal control functions
- Experience in Big 4 audit firms and/or financial services industry is a plus
- Knowledge of operational processes (with integrity risk focus), risks, and internal control framework building
- Critical thinking skills and eagerness to solve challenges
- Ability to thrive in unstructured, fast-paced environments with a 'can-do' mentality
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Eagerness to work in an innovative technology company within the financial sector
