OpenAI is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Lead to own the communications strategy for the Enterprise & Growth portfolio, which spans B2B, Revenue, Partnerships, Marketing, Enterprise Engineering, Ads, Commerce, and Consumer Verticals. This role is central to OpenAI's mission of ensuring AGI benefits all of humanity by helping employees understand how the company's technology reaches people and businesses.

Key responsibilities include setting and delivering communications strategy for the Enterprise & Growth portfolio; advising senior leaders on messaging, framing, and delivery; guiding communications through complex organizational changes; leading company-wide user and customer storytelling programs; synthesizing employee feedback and perspectives; maintaining momentum as priorities shift; and strengthening the broader Internal Communications function.

You will be equally comfortable setting strategic direction, writing executive messages that address employee concerns transparently, and hosting live conversations that invite candid discussion. OpenAI operates in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift quickly and important work often begins before every detail is settled. You must be able to get up to speed on unfamiliar topics, recommend paths with incomplete information, and adjust as decisions evolve.
The role can be based in San Francisco or New York City, with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week. Relocation assistance is offered to new employees.

- Curiosity about business growth and how people use technology; ability to connect commercial priorities, product developments, and customer experiences to company mission
- Strong program leadership, ownership, and adaptability; ability to bring structure to ambiguous work and move between strategic planning and hands-on execution
- Sound judgment and resilience under pressure; ability to stay constructive and collaborative through compressed timelines and changes in direction
