Tabby is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Lead to lead and deliver comprehensive audits across financial crime and compliance domains. This role focuses on independently assessing the effectiveness of financial crime prevention frameworks, regulatory compliance programs, and governance structures in line with Central Bank of UAE (CBUAE) expectations.
Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end audits across AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud prevention, and customer due diligence (CDD/KYC/KYB) processes. You will independently plan and execute audit engagements using a risk-based approach, evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of financial crime frameworks against CBUAE regulations, internal policies, and international best practices. The role requires assessing compliance-owned processes including regulatory horizon scanning, regulatory change management, compliance monitoring programs, policy governance, and management information reporting to senior leadership and regulators.
You will identify control gaps, thematic risks, and opportunities to strengthen financial crime prevention frameworks. This includes conducting deep-dive reviews into high-risk areas such as transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer risk profiling, while staying current on regulatory developments and enforcement actions.
The position also involves leading or supporting forensic reviews into suspected financial crime, fraud, or control breaches. You will analyze complex datasets to identify suspicious patterns and potential control failures while maintaining audit independence. Advanced data analytics capabilities are essential—you will apply analytics to identify anomalies and control weaknesses, assess MI quality and completeness, and support development of continuous auditing capabilities.
You will report audit outcomes to the Head of Internal Audit with clear, risk-based conclusions and practical recommendations. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are critical, as you will influence change and drive timely remediation across the organization.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Forensic Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred). 7+ years in internal audit, financial crime compliance, or forensic investigations within banking, fintech, or regulated financial services. Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud risk management, and CBUAE regulations. Solid understanding of compliance frameworks and second-line responsibilities. Proven experience auditing financial crime and compliance programs. Advanced data analytics proficiency (SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar). Relevant certifications (CAMS, CFE, CFF, CIA, CISA) strongly preferred. Strong investigative mindset, professional skepticism, integrity, and discretion. Fluent English required.
