Kraken, a leading crypto platform founded in 2011 and part of the Payward group, is seeking an Internal Audit Financial Crime & Conduct Manager to lead its global financial crime and conduct audit program. Reporting to Internal Audit leadership, you will evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls across AML/CFT, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, market integrity, and conduct risk across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory regimes.
Key responsibilities include leading audits across financial crime compliance and conduct risk; performing risk assessments to identify exposure areas and prioritize audit coverage; designing and executing control testing across business and compliance processes; assessing conduct and market integrity controls including market abuse surveillance, personal account dealing, conflicts of interest, and consumer protection; and shaping multi-year audit plans aligned to the organization's financial crime and conduct risk profile.
You will lead multiple audit engagements concurrently, managing planning, fieldwork, and reporting end-to-end. This includes documenting findings, drafting workpapers and reports, tracking remediation, and contributing to continuous improvement of audit methodologies in line with IIA Global Internal Audit Standards. You'll lead engagement teams, including coordinating co-sourced resources, to ensure quality delivery.
Stakeholder engagement is critical: you will partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Business teams to communicate audit results and advise on control improvements while maintaining audit independence. You'll present findings to senior management, the Audit Committee, and regulators as applicable, and support regulatory examinations. The role includes monitoring evolving financial crime typologies, sanctions regimes, and regulatory guidance across relevant jurisdictions.
A key differentiator is your opportunity to lead AI-enabled auditing—applying generative AI, agentic workflows, and data analytics across the audit lifecycle to expand testing coverage, sharpen risk targeting, and improve efficiency while retaining human ownership of judgment and conclusions.
