Join Coinbase's IT Internal Audit team as an Internal Audit Analytics Associate to deliver data-driven assurance across the company's global technology infrastructure and crypto-native products. In this role, you'll extract, analyze, and validate large datasets from internal systems to assess the design and operational effectiveness of IT and security controls.
You'll execute in-depth data analysis by writing complex, reusable SQL queries against Snowflake and other internal data platforms to evaluate control effectiveness. You'll validate system and model changes through comprehensive testing, documenting compliance and performance impacts for stakeholders. Your work will involve producing accurate data extracts and reports from multiple sources, translating complex audit data requests into clear, actionable requirements and outputs.
Key responsibilities include testing data ETL processes from upstream production systems into data repositories and enterprise tools, ensuring completeness and accuracy at each stage. You'll design and enhance metrics dashboards to measure IT and security system performance, providing actionable insights to the Internal Audit team. Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Security, and IT stakeholders will be essential to gather audit evidence and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required qualifications include 2+ years of experience in a data analytics role at a technology, consulting, financial institution, or fintech firm, plus a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field. You must demonstrate strong SQL proficiency with platforms like Snowflake, including query optimization and reusable code patterns. Working knowledge of IT operations, security infrastructure, cybersecurity programs, and enterprise technology stacks is essential. Experience testing and validating data ETL workflows, including data completeness and accuracy checks, is required. The role emphasizes responsible use of generative AI while maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs.
