Alan is a prevention-focused health insurance company serving 1M+ members across Europe with €800M+ ARR. The company integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a unified platform, operating across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada with 800+ employees. You will join Alan's Corporate Legal team, supporting the company's scaling efforts across complex regulatory and business challenges. This role offers structured mentorship and close collaboration with Business, Product, and Care teams. You will have opportunities to expand your scope and take on new challenges as you grow. Key responsibilities include: Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret regulatory developments for Alan's insurance products (ACPR guidelines, health/disability insurance rules, distribution regulations). Translate regulatory obligations into operational processes. Contribute to audit responses and compliance reporting to regulators. Support regulatory advocacy efforts. Business Support: Contribute to RFP responses, contract negotiations with clients and partners, and prospect engagement. Provide regulatory expertise in business conversations. Support compliance projects across Alan's markets. Product & Member Protection: Identify ways to meet regulatory requirements while improving member experience (pricing, options design, UX, complaints management). Protect Alan's competitive positioning on regulatory topics. Internal Legal Operations: Build legal frameworks, templates, and decision-making guidelines. Determine in-house vs. external counsel matters. Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency and scale legal operations. Within six months, you will contribute meaningfully to RFP responses or negotiations, take end-to-end ownership of defined legal workstreams (compliance analysis, product review, regulatory reporting, complaints management), earn trust from internal partners as a pragmatic legal advisor, and contribute to internal tools that increase legal autonomy. Required: 2+ years insurance law or social protection law experience (top law firm or insurance company). Fluent French and professional English. Exposure to commercial health/disability insurance matters. Familiarity with French insurance regulatory frameworks. Desired: international market experience, English drafting, regulatory authority background. You should demonstrate autonomy and ownership, business pragmatism, rigor and precision, intellectual curiosity and coachability, and innovative problem-solving. Interest in leveraging technology and AI is a bonus.
