Anthropic is seeking an experienced Insider Risk Investigator to join its cross-functional Insider Risk Team. This role combines technical investigation expertise with human-centered investigative skills to protect Anthropic's critical assets—people, data, and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include triaging technical detection alerts from SIEM, DLP, and UEBA systems; conducting end-to-end insider risk investigations independently while collaborating with IT, Detection and Response, Legal, HR, and other teams; monitoring and triaging external threats targeting employees; conducting sensitive employee interviews; performing technical log analysis; and leveraging AI tools (Claude, Claude Code) to accelerate investigation workflows and data analysis.
You will build and maintain investigation documentation, assist in iterating on processes and systems to detect and mitigate insider risks, develop and operationalize insider risk indicators and mitigation strategies, provide rapid-turnaround security assessments, support security awareness programs, and serve as a subject matter expert providing training to team members.
Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of insider risk, corporate investigations, or related experience; 3–5 years conducting investigative interviews; at least 1–2 years in the private sector; experience with OSINT, counterintelligence, DLP/UEBA/SIEM/SOAR tooling; knowledge of open-source research techniques; and strong communication skills for translating complex security findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong additional qualifications include experience in the technology or AI/ML sector, counterintelligence investigations, open-source intelligence collection, AI/LLM adoption for productivity, high-growth startup environments, AI sector risk knowledge, data exfiltration investigations, and government or defense backgrounds.
Success in this role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, balance between technical and human investigation skills, AI-native approach to work, alignment with AI safety mission, sound judgment under uncertainty, clear communication, and strong cross-functional collaboration abilities.
