Base Power Company is rebuilding America's electrical grid through distributed battery networks. They are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to support field operations in Texas.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining compliance with Texas Health and Safety Codes, OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH standards. You will collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies. Key responsibilities include executing industrial hygiene studies to analyze manufacturing byproducts, inspecting facilities and machinery to identify hazards, and completing documented safety observations from regular audits.
You will investigate industrial accidents and occupational diseases to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. You'll develop safety solutions following a safety order of precedence (elimination, substitution, engineering controls, work practice controls, training, and PPE) to ensure personnel, property, and environmental safety remain within acceptable risk boundaries. You will also manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
The EHS team is responsible for building a safety-embedded culture across Base's rapidly growing operations. This is a collaborative, hands-on role that values ownership, continuous improvement, and proactive risk identification. You will partner closely with field, warehouse, manufacturing, and leadership teams to implement practical safety solutions and enable operational excellence.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineering
- 3+ years of experience in design, development, and operational oversight of environmental, health, and safety disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to research and apply best industrial and working practices
- Knowledge of process safety management methods, pressure systems, and chemical delivery systems
- Strong knowledge and experience interpreting, applying, and documenting federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations
- Experience with emergency response communication and incident management involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and water
