Statusphere is an AI-powered influencer-marketing technology platform that helps enterprise brands scale human-generated content across social, retail, and paid media. The company is seeking its first in-house counsel to serve as the primary legal resource and lead the commercial contracting function.
In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of commercial agreements—from initial review through signature—including enterprise SaaS contracts, digital-credit arrangements, agency agreements, vendor contracts, MSAs, SOWs, and NDAs. You will manage a meaningful monthly volume of inbound and outbound agreements while maintaining speed and commercial pragmatism.
Key responsibilities include: independently negotiating client-side agreements with sophisticated counterparties; drafting, reviewing, and redlining contracts across multiple agreement types; managing vendor and consulting agreements; providing commercially calibrated risk guidance to executives; owning website Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy; maintaining creator and brand-creator agreements; answering day-to-day operational legal questions; building scalable legal operations through templates and playbooks; and advising C-level leaders on legal strategy and escalation.
You will report to the COO/CFO and work closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, Product, Security, and Customer Success. The role is designed for a practical, commercially minded transactional attorney who can distinguish between acceptable risk and material exposure, keep deals moving, and provide clear recommendations—not simply identify issues.
Required qualifications: 4–6 years of post-J.D. transactional legal experience at a law firm, established corporation, or high-growth startup; demonstrated ability to independently handle high monthly contract volume with quick turnaround; strong experience negotiating B2B SaaS, technology, digital services, agency, consulting, and vendor agreements; ability to run negotiations directly with sophisticated counterparties while maintaining momentum and making sound commercial tradeoffs; and a deep understanding of business drivers and revenue models.
