Pixxel, a space data and spacecraft manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Image Product Manager to lead the development and management of hyperspectral image products. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, technical execution, and customer success, requiring deep expertise in satellite imagery, remote sensing, and image processing pipelines.
You will own the end-to-end product strategy for Pixxel's hyperspectral image processing pipeline, ensuring alignment with company vision, customer requirements, and mission objectives. Key responsibilities include: refining product strategy and roadmaps; tracking mission image product delivery from request through final packaging; coordinating cross-functionally with IPR, Mission Operations, Platform, Customer Success, Order Desk, QA/QC, and Engineering teams; conducting market research and competitive analysis; defining requirements for pipeline monitoring dashboards and automated QA/QC systems; and maintaining strict quality control processes.
You will act as the primary liaison between Pixxel's commercial and customer-facing teams, translating customer needs into product requirements and ensuring hyperspectral image products meet expectations. You'll maintain comprehensive documentation (PRDs, release notes, processing version docs, decision logs) and identify risks and mitigation strategies across product development, pipeline execution, quality, and delivery timelines.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Remote Sensing, Earth Science, or Engineering; 4+ years of Product Manager experience in a relevant industry; strong functional understanding of hyperspectral image processing, remote sensing technologies, satellite systems, and product levels (L0, L1, L2, ARD). Desirable skills include mission design and orbit simulation experience (STK, FreeFlyer, Orekit, GMAT), full lifecycle LEO spacecraft development, hardware-in-the-loop and Monte Carlo simulation, Git, and Jira. Cross-cultural communication skills and experience working with international teams are valued.
