Hypersonica is building Europe's hypersonic defence capability. This role owns the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) workstream end-to-end for a programme or major workstream cluster, spanning Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), maintenance planning, provisioning and spares optimization, technical publications, training needs analysis, and obsolescence management. You will build ILS plans and milestones from scratch, working directly with engineering to embed supportability and maintainability into design decisions early. You'll manage logistics and support risk proactively, establish customer relationships with logistics and support authorities, and translate customer requirements into ILS deliverables and programme outcomes. Key responsibilities include structuring ILS content for bids and proposals, evaluating ILS subcontractors and suppliers (training providers, spares vendors, technical publication suppliers), and identifying high-potential partners. You'll build deep subject-matter expertise in ILS from both a technical and operational customer perspective, using this to shape programme strategy, risk decisions, and lessons learned across the organization. You will establish and refine ILS processes, templates, and structures where none yet exist, acting as a guardian of efficiency and avoiding unnecessary overhead. You'll own and federate ILS knowledge across the team, serving as the go-to reference for supportability and logistics questions, and stepping into unowned problems within your scope. You'll make sound decisions on supportability and logistics trade-offs under ambiguity, judging which risks are acceptable versus which must be escalated, and knowing when to pull in engineering, quality, or commercial expertise. Hypersonica is a small, elite team solving consequential problems at pace. The company hires for talent and broad capability rather than rigid role definitions. You'll have high ownership and autonomy with clear objectives and accountability for outcomes, exposure to the full lifecycle of complex defence programmes, and daily collaboration with leading experts across engineering, operations, business development, and defence. REQUIREMENTS: - Typically five or more years of relevant Integrated Logistics Support experience within defence, aerospace, or comparably regulated engineering environments, having structured and delivered an ILS workstream or small programme end-to-end. - Working knowledge of core ILS disciplines: LSA, maintenance/RCM planning, provisioning and spares optimization, technical publications, training needs analysis, and obsolescence management; familiarity with relevant defence programme standards. - Background in engineering, logistics, materiel management, or similarly relevant discipline, with genuine fluency in technical and supportability content. - Comfortable building processes and structures where none exist, with a bias toward lean, fit-for-purpose practice over heavy process overhead. - Confident operating independently with customers and subcontractors; credible contributing to commercial content such as bids, statements of work, and subcontractor evaluation. - Sound judgment under ambiguity: able to weigh supportability, cost, and schedule trade-offs, prioritize competing demands, and recognize limits of expertise. - Fluent in English; German fluency desirable given bilingual working environment, though not required for this specialist discipline.
