Octopus Energy is spearheading the transition to greener, cheaper energy through the installation of in-home technologies including smart meters, electric car chargers, low carbon heating, home batteries, and solar systems. This role is based at the Hinckley warehouse.
As ICQA Team Manager, you will lead a team responsible for three key operational pillars: Purchasing, Communications, and Inventory. You will oversee day-to-day activities across these functions, ensuring accurate inventory control, effective purchasing processes, and clear operational communications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the ICQA team, coaching and developing team members to build a high-performing unit
- Overseeing end-to-end inventory control, ensuring stock accuracy, availability, and effective management
- Managing purchasing activity to ensure orders and information are accurate, up-to-date, and processed correctly
- Working closely with Procurement to monitor service performance and identify process improvements
- Overseeing operational communications to ensure accurate and timely information sharing across teams and stakeholders
- Managing and maintaining inventory, purchasing, and operational communication systems, including software and hardware
- Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with technical support
- Monitoring and managing key ICQA KPIs, using data and insights to identify trends and drive operational excellence
- Analyzing data to improve inventory accuracy, purchasing performance, and operational efficiency
- Supporting scheduling activity to ensure effective planning and coordination
- Implementing and maintaining quality standards and controls across ICQA processes
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and leading change management within the team
- Collaborating with warehouse, operations, logistics, procurement, and cross-functional teams
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory, quality, and safety standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience in inventory control, purchasing, quality assurance, or similar operational environment
- Strong experience in people management or team leadership role
- Experience working with operational systems, data, and processes with ability to identify and resolve issues
- Experience managing KPIs and using data to drive performance and continuous improvement
- Ability to lead and support teams through change, adapting quickly to new processes and systems
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to analyze information, identify improvement opportunities, and turn insights into action
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Leadership qualities that inspire, motivate, and develop teams
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across the wider operation
