HUD is building infrastructure for RL training data and evaluations for frontier AI agents, plus a marketplace to sell these services to frontier labs. The company has raised $15M from top VCs, was part of YC W25, and is used by frontier labs, Fortune 500 companies, and startups. As Head of Talent, you will own end-to-end recruiting across technical and GTM (go-to-market) roles. Your primary challenge is identifying and recruiting exceptional talent to support rapid growth, with the constraint that HUD's marketplace model means the company will remain lean—targeting 30-40 people in its end state, so scaling revenue does not require scaling headcount proportionally. Key responsibilities include: - Own end-to-end recruiting across technical and GTM roles - Build and optimize recruiting operations and tooling, automating workflows - Partner with founders and team leads to define role requirements, evaluation criteria, and interview processes - Develop deep product understanding to pitch technical candidates credibly - Source top candidates through high-signal and unconventional channels - Screen candidates for technical competence and product/market intuition - Support onboarding and new hire ramp - Help define and run performance review processes, leveling, and feedback systems The team currently has ~25 people, mostly full-time and in-person, with some remote flexibility. The team includes 4 International Olympiad medalists, serial AI startup founders, and researchers with publications at top venues like ICLR and NeurIPS. The company has 8 figures in funding and is scaling profitably to meet strong demand. REQUIREMENTS: - Experience hiring engineering, product, and GTM roles - Comfortable evaluating candidates via portfolios and projects, not just resumes - Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts credibly with candidates - Highly organized with ability to manage multiple roles and pipelines simultaneously - Strong instincts for talent quality and bar-setting - Early-stage startup experience with ability to work independently in fast-paced environments Strong candidates may also have: - Track record of creative sourcing - Familiarity with Ashby, Juicebox, and Clay - Experience with vibe coding and using AI to automate workflows - Exposure to or ownership of people/HR functions - Experience evaluating non-traditional candidate profiles The company prioritizes technical aptitude and learning potential over years of experience and encourages motivated candidates to apply even if they don't meet all criteria.
