Granted is a seed-stage healthtech company ($17M funded) solving a critical problem in the US healthcare system: medical bills and insurance coverage are complex, error-prone, and financially draining. The platform uses AI and new regulations to fight claim denials, correct billing errors, negotiate and lower bills, and simplify coverage understanding—saving people time, money, and stress.
You will be the Head of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development, a foundational hire reporting directly to the CEO. Your mission is to build Granted's distribution engine through partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem—benefit brokers, employers, payers, TPAs, and beyond.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and manage the full BD pipeline: prioritize high-potential verticals, source and qualify leads, and drive deals forward
- Close new partnerships: lead complex, high-touch sales cycles (2–12 months), get early wins live, and iterate rapidly
- Craft GTM narratives: collaborate with marketing and branding to develop pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and partner onboarding materials
- Develop a repeatable playbook: build the infrastructure, tools (CRM, sales ops), and outreach materials to scale the channel motion
- Represent Granted externally: be the credible, consultative face of the company with partners, relentless in follow-through
Granted has already launched its first pilot with a large benefit broker and validated the need. You'll move the company from exploration to exploitation and scaling, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO to build the partnerships motion from zero.
You thrive in this role if you get energy from understanding opaque systems (employer benefits, payer incentives, broker economics, TPA structures), can carry a 6–12 month deal all the way to signature, are comfortable writing the pitch (not just delivering it), and care deeply about solving the medical bill and insurance confusion problem.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare partnerships, business development, or strategy
- Master's degree required (MBA strongly preferred)
- Background in a high-performance environment: top-tier undergrad, consulting firm, or venture-backed startup
- Track record of closing complex, high-value deals
- Strong project management skills; ability to drive multiple deals forward without dropping the ball
- High integrity, low ego, and desire to build something that matters
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Experience at an early-stage startup
- Exposure to employer benefits, digital health, or insurance tech
- Network of healthcare systems, brokers, payers, or benefit leaders
