Deliveroo, a marketplace platform now part of DoorDash, is seeking a Head of Public Policy for Italy to lead public policy strategy and advocacy efforts in the Italian market. This hybrid role is based in Rome and reports to the VP of International Public Policy at DoorDash (Europe).
You will monitor and evaluate legislative and regulatory developments at regional and national levels to identify risks and opportunities, shaping company positions in collaboration with internal teams. You'll design and execute strategic advocacy campaigns using outreach, research, coalition-building, and public relations to influence policy outcomes. A core responsibility is building and maintaining trusted relationships with policymakers, public officials, labor unions, industry associations, and other key stakeholders across Italy.
You will represent Deliveroo in government consultations, public forums, and industry and union negotiations. You'll advise global leadership and cross-functional teams on Italian political dynamics to guide strategic business decisions, working closely with international centers of excellence and business leadership.
Required qualifications include extensive experience leading external public policy engagements and regulatory advocacy in an agency, in-house, or government setting in Italy. You need deep understanding of Italian political processes, legislative dynamics, and public policy frameworks, plus an established network across Italian policymakers and regulatory bodies. Bilingual fluency in English and Italian is essential, with proven ability to communicate complex policy positions to diverse audiences. You should have experience navigating fast-paced, global matrix organizations and hold a university degree in law, public policy, political science, or a related field.
