Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is an intelligent platform for travel and spend management, serving over 12,000 companies globally. The company automates travel bookings, expenses, invoice processing, and more, addressing the $1.7 trillion problem of shadow work that wastes employee productivity. Founded in 2015, Perk has grown to 1,800+ employees across 12 offices globally, with headquarters in London and Boston.
As Head of Privacy, you will lead and scale Perk's customer trust program and drive privacy operations strategy. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic vision with execution bias. You will simplify the complex regulatory landscape of privacy, AI, cybersecurity, and data governance into outcomes that resonate with customers and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include: owning and evolving Perk's global privacy program with risk-based strategy, policies, and controls aligned with applicable laws; contributing to the global AI governance program alongside Security and Legal teams; advising the Chief Legal Officer and executive team on material privacy risks; maintaining accurate views of personal data and processing activities (ROPA, data flows, lawful bases, cross-border transfers); overseeing operational privacy controls (retention, deletion, cookies, consent management, DSR); supporting data governance protocols with Data, Engineering, and Security teams; conducting risk-based reviews of new data processing initiatives (PIAs/DPIAs, LIAs, AI assessments); partnering with Security on privacy requirements and breach response; and owning privacy risk reporting.
You will manage a team of two and collaborate closely with the Data Protection Officer, Security, People/HR, Procurement, Product and Engineering, Data, Revenue, and Customer Care teams. The role requires approximately seven years of privacy specialization experience, strong technical literacy to deploy automation and workflows, and a bias toward action and creative problem-solving. This is not an abstract strategy role—impact is measured by delivered outcomes, not presentation quality.
