Alan is a prevention-focused health insurance company serving 1M+ members across 40K+ companies, with €800M+ ARR. The company integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a unified platform and is expanding globally across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. You will lead Alan's insurance legal function as Head of Insurance Legal Counsel, reporting into the Corporate Unit. This is a strategic, autonomous role overseeing all insurance compliance, regulatory strategy, and legal operations across Alan's markets. Key responsibilities include: **Regulatory Strategy & Compliance**: Define Alan's regulatory positioning, translate complex constraints into business advantages, own the insurance compliance posture, lead regulatory inspections and board-level risk reporting, and develop strategies to influence regulatory evolution with insurance authorities. **Business & Commercial Impact**: Serve as legal voice in strategic deals, engage directly with key prospects and clients, own legal responses to major RFPs, lead complex negotiations, and define offer strategies for large accounts leveraging regulatory expertise. **Product Excellence & Member Protection**: Identify ways to meet regulatory requirements while improving member experience (pricing, options design, UX, complaints management), and protect Alan's competitive positioning on key regulatory topics. **International Scope & Legal Autonomy**: Oversee insurance compliance across all markets, build foundational frameworks and distributed ownership structures, lead legal and regulatory dimensions of new international expansion (licensing, compliance plan design, partnership negotiations, product building), and build internal legal frameworks and automation roadmaps to reduce external counsel reliance. Required: 10+ years of insurance law and/or social protection law experience at a top law firm or international insurance company; fluency in French and professional English; in-depth commercial experience with complex health and disability insurance deals; broad familiarity with ACPR guidelines, insurance distribution rules, and health/disability insurance regulations. Desired qualities: strategic autonomy, business mindset, rigor and pragmatism, appetite to grow others, innovative problem-solving, intellectual curiosity, and interest in leveraging technology and AI for legal operations. Bonus: international market experience, English drafting, or regulatory authority background.
