Taptap Send is a cross-border fintech platform serving emerging markets, founded in 2019 by Harvard graduates and serial entrepreneurs. As Head of APAC, you will lead the region's growth strategy with direct P&L ownership. Your responsibilities include:
**Strategy & Execution:** Develop and execute the APAC vision and strategy with particular focus on East Asia and China. Own the regional P&L and deliver ambitious growth and profitability targets. Monitor regional and market-level metrics to inform resource allocation and drive a test-and-learn approach.
**Direct East Asia Leadership:** Own growth across East Asia, particularly China, including customer acquisition, retention, pricing, user research, and product quality. Identify and execute opportunities to unlock new markets and customer segments.
**Southeast Asia Oversight:** Provide strategic leadership across Southeast Asia, working closely with market leaders to set priorities, challenge strategies, and deliver targets.
**Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement:** Build trust-based relationships with diaspora communities, partners, and key stakeholders. Represent Taptap Send externally and develop the company's presence in China and East Asia. Collaborate with internal functions including Customer Service, Finance, Tech, Legal, Compliance, and People Ops.
**Team Leadership:** Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across APAC. Provide strategic direction and coaching to market leaders while remaining hands-on in East Asia. Hire, inspire, and retain diverse talent.
You will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and have the opportunity to shape a high-growth fintech platform serving millions in emerging markets.
**Requirements:**
- 10+ years of experience in payments or financial services, including senior leadership experience within a regulated entity
- Proven track record of owning and scaling a multi-market or regional business with P&L responsibility, delivering ambitious growth and profitability targets
- Deep understanding of the China payments ecosystem and strong networks across China and broader East Asia fintech and financial services ecosystem
- Strong understanding of regulatory and payments landscape across APAC
- Demonstrated experience driving consumer customer acquisition and retention with track record of building and scaling sustainable growth
- Experience building, developing, and leading high-performing teams across multiple markets and geographies
- Strong commercial judgment balancing growth, customer experience, operational excellence, and profitability
- Advanced stakeholder management capability with ability to build credibility with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven approach to decision making
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (required)
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
- Execution-oriented with ability to prioritize and move ideas to implementation
