AssemblyAI builds best-in-class Voice AI models powering the next generation of voice applications. The company processes 1M+ hours of audio daily, serves 600M+ monthly inference calls, and powers 2B+ end-user experiences. With customers including Granola, Fireflies, Figure AI, and CallRail, AssemblyAI is one of the most capital-efficient AI companies—under 100 people generating ~$600K ARR per employee. You will be the first senior leader on the ground in Europe, building and leading AssemblyAI's go-to-market business across the region. You'll own the EMEA number end-to-end: new logo revenue, pipeline, expansion, and usage growth. Europe is already one of the fastest-growing regions, with European calling platforms, contact center software, and voice agent companies moving production workloads onto AssemblyAI's voice models. Key responsibilities: - Own regional revenue targets, pipeline, and usage growth from first evaluation to production at scale - Set the regional GTM strategy: prioritize countries (UK & Ireland, DACH, France, Benelux, Nordics, Southern Europe), target account tiers, and coverage evolution - Build and lead the European team across Sales, Applied AI Engineers, and Forward Deployed Engineering; hire the first wave of regional talent and develop future leaders - Run an integrated motion where Sales, Applied AI, and FDE work as one team: technical discovery, custom benchmarks, evals, and hands-on deployment - Personally lead and close the region's most strategic deals as executive sponsor for key accounts - Build the operating system for the region: forecasting, pipeline inspection, deal reviews, territory design, and metrics - Drive an outbound-first culture where pipeline is created through real technical insight - Navigate the region's commercial and regulatory landscape (GDPR, EU AI Act, data residency, DPAs, enterprise security reviews) with Legal and Security - Represent AssemblyAI at conferences, meetups, and community events; partner with Marketing on regional demand - Bring the European voice of the customer to Product, Research, and leadership—which languages, accents, and deployment requirements are winning or losing deals You'll report to the VP of Customer Solutions and work in lockstep with US GTM leaders and cross-functional teams (Research, Engineering, Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance). This is a builder's role: you'll carry the region's most strategic deals yourself early on, then hire and lead the team that scales it. Expect to be on the road 50%+ each month across the region, plus regular trips to San Francisco and New York offices. REQUIREMENTS: - 10+ years in technical B2B sales or GTM, with 5+ years leading teams with Europe responsibility - Track record of building a region or segment from an early footprint for a US-headquartered, venture-backed company: hired the first team, opened first major accounts, scaled revenue meaningfully - Experience selling APIs, infrastructure, or developer platforms to engineering and product buyers, ideally in usage-based or consumption models - Technical credibility: comfortable discussing API architectures, model accuracy and latency tradeoffs, multilingual performance, deployment and data residency options directly with engineers and CTOs - Deep familiarity with selling across Europe, including UK plus major markets (DACH, France, Nordics, Benelux) and their procurement, security, and data protection expectations - Player-coach DNA: happy to run own deals and write own outbound while building the team - Recruiting instinct: carry network across European voice and AI ecosystem, close candidates, hold high bar under pressure - High urgency, ownership, comfort with ambiguity; operate with autonomy several time zones from headquarters while staying aligned with US team - Willingness to travel to drive impact (50%+ monthly across region, plus regular US trips) - Must be based in London or able to travel there frequently NICE TO HAVE: - Experience in speech, voice AI, contact center, or conversational AI - Fluency in one or more European languages (German, French, Spanish, Dutch) in addition to English
