You own customer acquisition and growth for Searchable, an AI-powered search visibility platform. This is a director-level role reporting to the Head of Product and CEO, sitting at the intersection of product, growth, and marketing.
You will own the complete acquisition funnel—from identifying and scaling channels to optimizing conversion at every stage. Your responsibilities include:
**Acquisition & Unit Economics**: Carry a quarterly target for new customers, qualified pipeline, and new ARR sourced by growth. Own CAC, payback period, and channel-level unit economics. Set and reallocate the acquisition budget weekly based on performance.
**Channel Strategy & Scaling**: Run paid, outbound, partnerships, events, creator-led content, and product-led acquisition as an integrated system. Identify 2-3 channels capable of carrying 30%+ of new pipeline each, then scale them to their limits. Kill underperforming channels quickly (target: 2-week test cycles). Build acquisition for both self-serve and enterprise motions.
**AI-Native Growth**: Ship your own tooling—scripts, agents, and internal tools—to automate repeatable workflows before hiring people to do them. Use Searchable's own product and data as your primary case study. Work daily in Claude, Clay, n8n, Cursor, and SQL.
**Growth Experiments**: Own the experiment backlog jointly with Product. Ship weekly experiments across landing pages, signup, onboarding, pricing, free tools, in-product prompts, and referral. Own the conversion funnel from first visit to paying customer. Turn the product into an acquisition channel through free audits, shareable reports, and white-label surfaces. Maintain a public experiment log including failures.
**Team & Reporting**: Hire a small team of builders or repurpose from existing business. Report acquisition performance to leadership weekly.
You will be hands-on in your first six months, building campaigns, writing copy, and wiring tooling yourself. You make decisions on incomplete data and correct them within days.
**Requirements**
- Personally owned customer acquisition at a B2B SaaS company through at least 3x ARR growth, ideally from under £5-10m to £30-50m+. Must be able to name channels scaled, spending, CAC, payback achieved, and what broke.
- Built an acquisition engine from a low base (inheriting and optimizing an existing machine does not count).
- Sold to marketing teams, agencies, or enterprise brands; understand how those buyers find and choose software.
- Managed a seven-figure annual acquisition budget and been accountable for its return.
- Run product growth experiments in a previous role; can show hypotheses, results, and what shipped.
- Worked inside a product team, written specs engineers built from, and held a share of a roadmap.
- Fluent in product analytics, including statistical significance.
- Improved signup, activation, or trial-to-paid conversion by a quantifiable number.
- Built and shipped AI agents or automations that replaced headcount or manual work in growth. Can demonstrate them.
- Work daily in tools like Claude, Claude Code, Clay, n8n, Cursor.
- Comfortable in SQL; can pull your own numbers without waiting on an analyst.
- Hands-on, direct, and operate like an owner.
