Filigran is a global cybersecurity company founded in 2022, offering open-source, AI-powered solutions for Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM). The company is scaling internationally and seeks a Head of Financial Controller to own the full accounting function across all entities.
In this role, you will report directly to the VP of Finance and serve as the technical backbone of the finance function. You will own all accounting operations including revenue recognition, consolidation, monthly and year-end close, and internal controls. Key responsibilities include:
**General Accounting Operations:** Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial transactions across Filigran entities; continuously improve the monthly/quarterly close process; ensure proper revenue recognition and documentation.
**Multi-Entity Oversight:** Lead consolidation across Filigran's growing international entity structure, including new entity set-ups; partner with the VP of Finance on transfer pricing, inter-company transactions, and cross-border compliance.
**Controls, Risk & Governance:** Perform gap analyses of accounting processes; design and implement internal controls and policies; manage the yearly financial audit end-to-end as the primary auditor contact; own the relationship with external accounting firms.
**Systems & Scalability:** Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting workflows; build documentation to make the accounting function auditable and transferable.
**Leadership & Cross-Functional Support:** Act as a thought partner to the VP of Finance on technical accounting matters; manage a current team of 3 general accountants and grow the team to support scalability; support ad hoc business requests including payroll coordination.
The role demands both strategic ownership and significant hands-on execution in a fast-scaling, multi-entity, international organization. Filigran is remote-first with a global team across Europe, North America, and APJ.
**Requirements:**
- 10+ years in accounting roles, including senior/lead or controller-level experience
- Strong knowledge of French accounting standards; exposure to multi-GAAP/consolidation environments is a strong plus
- Proven ability to build processes and internal controls from scratch in a fast-growing or scaling environment
- Comfortable operating with high autonomy and ambiguity; adapts quickly to change
- Prior people management experience
