Kantiv is a US-based SaaS company serving the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry with a hybrid billing model: annual platform subscriptions plus prepaid AI agent credit packs. You are the company's first in-house finance leader, taking over all finance functions currently split across a fractional CFO, outsourced accounting firm, and Chief of Staff. You own end-to-end finance operations: general ledger and monthly close in QuickBooks under US GAAP, order-to-cash (invoicing, collections, AR management), procure-to-pay, revenue recognition under ASC 606 for both subscription and usage-based revenue, sales commissions, and financial forecasting. A key near-term priority is leading the build of usage-based billing on Stripe—designing usage meters, price plans, credit systems, and invoice templates—then using real usage and margin data to inform pricing optimization. You will build the finance team from scratch, starting with hiring your first accountant. You manage external partners including US tax preparers, 409A valuation firms, auditors, and India-based CA firms (the company has an India entity). You prepare monthly financial statements by business day 10, track key SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, gross margin, burn, CAC payback), own the monthly management pack and board finance reporting, and support the CEO on fundraising and investor diligence. The role requires 3–4 hours of daily overlap with US Pacific or Eastern time and is employed through Kantiv's India entity, working with US-based leadership and customers. REQUIREMENTS Must Have: - 9+ years in finance; at least 4 years at a B2B SaaS company in a senior finance role - Direct hands-on experience with hybrid billing models (subscription + usage-based): must provide examples of prepaid credits, usage billing, or overage billing you have implemented and a billing architecture you helped design - Revenue recognition expertise under ASC 606 for both subscription and usage revenue - Order-to-cash and accounts payable experience for US customers and vendors - Built and owned forecast models (not just updated them) - Advanced Excel or Google Sheets proficiency; QuickBooks Online experience - Clear written English for US customers and executives - 3–4 hours daily overlap with US Pacific or Eastern time - Owned a US GAAP monthly close (not just reviewed) - Built or rebuilt finance processes at a startup with no existing finance infrastructure - Hired and managed at least one accountant Nice to Have: - CA, CPA, or CMA certification - US state sales tax for SaaS (economic nexus, Anrok, or Avalara) - Stripe Billing and Stripe Tax implementation experience, especially usage-based pricing; Metronome, Orb, or Chargebee experience - Commission tools (QuotaPath, CaptivateIQ); ASC 340-40 experience - HubSpot or Salesforce data integration - SQL for pulling usage data independently - Experience with financial audits, 409A valuations, or fundraising diligence
