Braintrust is an agent observability platform used by teams at Notion, Stripe, Box, OpenAI, and Cloudflare to trace agents, identify issues, and run evaluations. The company is seeking a Head of Field Marketing to build and lead a comprehensive field marketing program centered on hospitality and community investment. In this role, you will own the complete field marketing strategy and execution. You'll get to know customers and prospects deeply, understanding their needs and building experiences they genuinely want to attend. You'll invest in local communities by building relationships with organizers, technical leaders, and community builders, supporting existing initiatives and finding ways Braintrust can contribute meaningfully. You'll develop the field marketing strategy, deciding where the company shows up, who to bring together, and what formats to use. You'll own every detail of the guest experience—from guest lists and venue selection to programming, food, WiFi, merchandise, and how guests are greeted. You'll work closely with Sales to understand their accounts and territories, helping them build relationships that extend beyond events and owning the invitation and follow-up strategy. You'll bring partners into the program, developing collaborative ideas with companies your audience cares about and ensuring each partnership feels meaningful and cohesive. You'll manage budgets, agencies, and vendors, choosing partners who care about quality and setting clear expectations. You'll track program impact by monitoring accounts, relationships, pipeline generation, and deals influenced, using those insights to inform future strategy. Finally, you'll build the team and operating rhythm needed to scale the program while maintaining the care and quality that make it effective. You'll stay close enough to the work to know when your attention is needed and be comfortable making decisions and getting hands-on when required. IDEAL CANDIDATE CREDENTIALS You are a natural host who notices when someone doesn't know anyone and makes introductions. You think about experiences from the guest's perspective and understand that hospitality shows up in both planning and execution. You have built field marketing programs at a developer tools or infrastructure company and can explain how those programs contributed to business outcomes. You understand technical audiences and know what makes engineers want to spend time with you and what makes that time valuable to executives. You have experience as a corporate events producer and hold field events to the same standard as major company events. You care about venue selection, attention to detail, working WiFi, and quality merchandise without needing to be asked. You understand the commercial side of marketing and can connect audience and program decisions to business goals. You work closely with Sales and have the conviction to push back when an approach needs improvement. You can lead and produce—building strategy, managing a team, and working hands-on with production partners. You're comfortable making decisions and getting into the work when needed. You hold people to a high bar, give clear feedback, and address issues early. You take responsibility for the work delivered by agencies and vendors.
