Octus is a leading global provider of credit intelligence, data, and analytics serving hedge funds, investment banks, management consulting, and law firms since 2013. We are seeking an experienced Head of EMEA Credit Research to lead our European leveraged finance research team, with a focus on high-yield performing and distressed credit coverage.
In this senior leadership role, you will manage a team of nine analysts and serve as a driving force in originating actionable investment ideas for institutional clients. You will oversee the publication of timely, insightful credit research reports, shape research coverage strategy, and establish best practices and KPIs for the team. This is a highly visible, client-facing position offering exposure to top-tier asset managers, hedge funds, investment banks, and financial advisors.
Key responsibilities include leading and developing your analyst team through training, mentoring, and performance management; driving collaboration with Editorial managers, legal analysts, and reporters to deliver cross-disciplinary research; originating and overseeing publication of credit research with actionable investment ideas; establishing best practices and monitoring KPIs; working with commercial and marketing teams to maximize research impact; maintaining active dialogue with industry contacts and clients; and continuously seeking innovations to enhance subscriber value and improve time to market.
You will need minimum 5+ years of credit analysis experience with significant time in client-facing or decision-making roles, plus 3+ years of direct team leadership and managerial experience. Demonstrated expertise in covering credits and sectors (primary markets, covenants, distressed debt, recovery estimates, restructuring) is essential. Advanced financial modeling, cash flow projection, and valuation skills are required, along with excellent technical, analytical, written, and oral communication abilities. A strong collaborative approach and track record of innovation delivering value to institutional clients are critical.
