Brightwheel is the largest and fastest-growing platform in early education, trusted by millions of educators and families. The company is backed by top-tier investors including Addition, Bessemer, Emerson Collective, Lowercase Capital, Notable Capital, and Mark Cuban, and is a three-time Cloud 100 company.
You will own the demand generation function end-to-end, including pipeline, revenue targets, budget allocation, and the existing team. In your first 60–90 days, you'll diagnose the current channel mix and team composition, then make decisive calls on what to keep, retool, or retire. Your core mandate is to shift measurement and programs from legacy MQL/form-fill models toward signal- and intent-based marketing approaches.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning pipeline, revenue number, budget, and team from day one
- Diagnosing and optimizing the current channel mix within the first 60–90 days
- Transitioning from legacy MQL/form-fill models to signal- and intent-based marketing
- Launching at least one new channel beyond current efforts (e.g., GEO/AEO, dark social, community-led growth, agentic outbound)
- Embedding AI and agentic tooling into core workflows: content production, lead scoring and routing, outbound sequencing, and reporting
- Partnering with Sales leadership on funnel definitions, SLAs, and conversion quality
- Reporting regularly to the Chief Product Officer on performance and resourcing needs
You are someone who can quickly assess what's actually working versus what's familiar, and you act decisively on that distinction. You build with AI rather than simply directing others to use it—your own workflows for content, scoring, and outbound have already evolved around agentic tools, and you have a clear point of view on where AI search and signal-based marketing are heading. You hold a high bar for performance, including for inherited teams, and prefer to have difficult conversations early rather than allow underperformance to persist.
Brightwheel is a distributed team with remote employees across every US time zone, plus select offices in the US and internationally.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience modernizing or turning around an existing demand generation function (not just building one from scratch)
- Personal hands-on experience using AI or agentic tools to rebuild a marketing workflow, with a specific before/after case study you can describe
- Track record of launching a channel outside the standard paid/SEO/social mix within the last two years (win or lose)
- Experience carrying a pipeline or revenue target and making real budget reallocation decisions based on evidence, not instinct
- Leadership experience managing a team of specialists or directors, including navigating a leadership transition
