Elliptic is seeking a Head of Compliance Product to lead the product strategy and execution for its core compliance portfolio—the products at the heart of the company serving some of the world's largest exchanges, banks, and government agencies. The compliance industry is at an inflection point, with teams everywhere seeking to leverage AI to dramatically increase efficiency while maintaining auditability and explainability. This is a player-coach role reporting to the VP of Product.
You will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Elliptic's compliance portfolio, defining what these products become as AI reshapes compliance work. You will lead the product side of the company's agentic compliance programme—AI capabilities designed to make compliance faster and better with explainability built in from the start. You will lead, coach, and grow a team of product managers, hiring well and developing people deliberately. Developing product talent is a core output of this role.
You will stay obsessively close to customers through design partnerships, analyst shadowing, product instrumentation, and internal dogfooding. You will prioritize ruthlessly, sequencing zero-to-one bets against the needs of products customers depend on today. You will execute with rigor, raising velocity and quality together, owning outcomes rather than shipping dates. You will use AI across your own workflow and your team's to learn faster and ship better in a domain where mistakes carry real consequences.
This is not a compliance officer role—you are building products for compliance teams, not running a compliance programme. This is not a caretaker role; the mandate is reinvention of successful, deeply embedded products. This is not management-only; you will lead product managers and personally own some of the hardest problems on the roadmap.
The product organization is centered in London with a growing US presence.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years building software products, including leading and developing product managers, with people who are better because they worked with you
- Genuine zero-to-one track record: taking an ambiguous problem in a complex domain from nothing to a product real users depend on
- Depth in financial crime compliance from the product side (transaction monitoring, screening, KYC/EDD, or investigations), built inside an exchange, bank, fintech, or compliance technology company
- Working knowledge of crypto and blockchain as a baseline; deep blockchain analytics experience is a strong plus
- AI-native: AI embedded in how you work and build every day, shipped AI or agentic capabilities to production, and raise AI capability of teams around you. AI must have materially changed how you build product in the last two years
- Deep executional rigor: break complex problems into shippable steps, sweat details that determine quality, reliably carry work over the line
- High self-sufficiency: find high-value opportunities unprompted, create clarity, comfortable owning broad remit while the map is being drawn
- Continuous systems thinking: look for repeatable systems behind one-off fixes, build leverage so each problem solved makes the team permanently faster
- Data-informed operating style: instrument what you ship, argue from evidence, change your mind when data disagrees
- Judgment under ambiguity: know which decisions to make fast and which to hold open when precedent does not exist
- Comfort in regulated, high-stakes environments: treat trust, explainability, and defensibility as features; operate well at the tension between innovation and regulatory reality
- Restlessness about velocity and quality: treat "that's just how long it takes" as a claim to be tested
