Fun is building infrastructure that powers consumer-facing fintech applications at the intersection of blockchain, traditional finance, and financial infrastructure. The company handles onboarding, account access, and money movement, enabling users to interact with blockchain-based systems as seamlessly as traditional finance. Fun operates a non-custodial architecture spanning both fiat and crypto rails globally.
You will be the first hire building and owning the compliance function from the ground up. This is a foundational role where compliance is a design input integrated into the product and architecture, not a checklist added after the fact. Your mandate is to establish the standards, controls, tooling, and judgment that allow Fun's infrastructure to orchestrate global money movement while maintaining the confidence of partners, banks, and regulators.
The role requires reasoning compliance posture from first principles rather than copying existing models from traditional banks or exchanges. You will work closely with the General Counsel to set this posture and report directly to them. Initial focus will be on sanctions and the crypto side of the business, with growth into full program ownership as the fiat rails expand.
You will collaborate closely with the CEO, Financial and Operations, Engineering, Partnerships, and Customer Support teams. This is an opportunity to shape compliance strategy at a critical inflection point in fintech infrastructure, where the intersection of blockchain technology and regulated financial services requires thoughtful, principled approaches to risk management and regulatory alignment.
