Sword Health is seeking a Head of Clinical Development to lead the clinical strategy and execution for Pulse, a new AI-native care platform. This role sits at the intersection of clinical medicine, product development, and AI innovation, overseeing the design, validation, and deployment of clinical protocols and evidence generation for Sword's expanding healthcare offerings across musculoskeletal, women's health, cardiometabolic, and mental health domains.
As Head of Clinical Development, you will own the end-to-end clinical development roadmap, including protocol design, clinical trial strategy, real-world evidence generation, and regulatory pathways. You'll work closely with Sword's clinical, product, and engineering teams to ensure that AI-driven care solutions meet the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and clinical utility. Your responsibilities include defining clinical endpoints, managing relationships with clinical advisors and research institutions, overseeing data collection and analysis, and translating clinical insights back into product improvements.
This is a leadership role managing a growing clinical development team. You'll report to senior leadership and have direct influence on Sword's clinical strategy and market positioning. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in clinical development, healthcare innovation, or medical research—ideally with exposure to digital health, AI-driven interventions, or novel care delivery models. You should be comfortable navigating regulatory requirements, designing rigorous clinical evidence, and communicating complex clinical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Sword has already demonstrated significant clinical validation: 59 published studies, 43 patents, and over 1 million members across three continents have completed 15+ million AI sessions. The company has helped 2,000+ enterprise clients avoid over $1 billion in unnecessary healthcare costs. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of AI-native healthcare at a well-funded, mission-driven organization backed by leading investors including Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Founders Fund.
