As Head of Business Development, you will build and lead a high-performing UK Business Development Representative (BDR) team. Your core responsibilities include recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and developing BDRs; owning day-to-day performance metrics around activity, qualified meetings, pipeline generation, and conversion; and establishing a strong outbound culture centered on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
You will conduct regular 1:1s, call coaching sessions, team meetings, and performance reviews. Using activity, conversion, and pipeline data, you'll identify performance gaps and drive improvements across the sales funnel. Close collaboration with Account Executives is essential—you'll develop account strategies, coordinate outbound activity, and ensure high-quality opportunity handovers.
Success in this role requires a proven track record managing BDRs or SDRs in B2B SaaS or technology companies. You should have deep expertise in modern outbound prospecting (cold calling, email, LinkedIn, account-based approaches) and prior experience in individual pipeline generation or closing sales roles. Strong coaching skills, the ability to diagnose underperformance and translate it into actionable improvement, and experience building or refining sales processes, messaging, sequences, and qualification frameworks are critical.
You'll thrive in a high-speed, high-trust environment with high expectations. The role offers significant equity ownership in a top AI company, early-stage growth opportunity, direct product feedback influence, and the chance to build or scale a new sales development function. Nice-to-have experience includes selling ERP, accounting software, fintech, or complex business applications; prospecting into CFOs and senior finance stakeholders; and prior experience in early-stage or high-growth US SaaS companies expanding internationally.
