Salary: USD 120,000 - 165,000 / annual
Arista Networks is seeking a Hardware NPI (New Product Introduction) / Debug Engineer to bridge design engineering and manufacturing for next-generation data center networking hardware. This hybrid role in Santa Clara is a fast-track opportunity to develop expertise across hardware development, manufacturing, test, and product engineering.
You will own end-to-end prototype builds in partnership with Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams, working to mature designs and manufacturing processes for field trial-ready units destined for strategic customers. The role emphasizes hands-on technical execution and rapid iteration on early-stage prototypes.
Key responsibilities include: leading complex root-cause analysis and system repairs; driving Design for Excellence (DFM, DFT, DFQ, DFR) through active reviews of schematics and layouts; translating real-world NPI findings into more robust product generations; and mentoring Contract Manufacturing partners to uphold production and quality standards.
You will work with Arista's full product portfolio, from compact 1RU switches to massive modular chassis integrating high-density PCBs, advanced interconnects, high-performance ASICs, and sophisticated thermal management. The role demands precision handling of intricate optical and flyover cable assemblies and deep systems-thinking skills.
Required qualifications: BSEE degree (MSEE strongly desired); 0–5+ years in Hardware, NPI, Sustaining, or Test Engineering in Networking, AI, GPU, or Computing industries; expertise in system-level debugging and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers); knowledge of manufacturing standards (IPC, JEDEC) and complex fab structures; passport readiness and ability to travel to Mexico, Malaysia, and Vietnam CM sites.
Key competencies: technical fluency interpreting schematics, board layouts, mechanical drawings, and datasheets; diagnostic proficiency with command-line logs; proactive self-starting mindset; exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills. English fluency required; Spanish and/or Vietnamese fluency desired.
