Salary: USD 180,000 - 275,000 / annual
Arista Networks is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the design and verification of industry-leading cloud networking Ethernet switches. You will manage multiple cross-functional hardware engineering teams responsible for creating the highest-density and greatest-bandwidth networking products in the market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical guidance to hardware engineers on complex bring-up, verification, and cross-functional problem resolution
- Oversee hardware schematic entry, layout supervision, board bring-up, and system debug activities
- Translate product management direction into detailed, executable system designs for cross-functional teams
- Drive vendor roadmaps for key components (ASICs, connectors, PCB vendors) aligned with internal product strategy
- Lead schematic and board design reviews, and analyze signal and power integrity simulation results
- Manage a portfolio of simultaneous projects with clear prioritization and status communication
- Drive high-quality product design with high first-pass manufacturing yields
- Ensure prototype manufacturing infrastructure meets portfolio needs
- Serve as escalation point for customer issues and supervise resolution
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a diverse hardware engineering team from new graduates to industry veterans
- Identify and implement new processes and tools to improve team productivity and efficiency
Required qualifications: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years networking hardware design experience, proven track record leading hardware engineering teams across multiple projects, proficiency with high-layer-count PCBs and high-speed design (Ethernet, PCIe, SMBus, SPI, POE, WiFi, PTP, MDIO), expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and collaboration with contract/original design manufacturers, demonstrated success taking products from concept to production, strong communication and mentoring skills, effective project management, experience with embedded x86/ARM systems, gigabit+ signaling, high-speed buses, and regulatory compliance, familiarity with signal/power integrity concepts and tools.
This is primarily an onsite role at Arista's Santa Clara headquarters with minimal remote work opportunities.
