Optery is seeking a Growth Marketing Manager to own lifecycle marketing end-to-end. You will design and execute the complete customer journey across email, in-app messaging, and push notifications—spanning onboarding, activation, engagement, upgrade/cross-sell, renewal, churn prevention, and win-back campaigns.
In this senior individual contributor role, you will have full ownership of strategy and execution. Responsibilities include:
- Owning the lifecycle marketing roadmap: mapping the customer journey and identifying high-impact opportunities across activation, conversion, retention, and expansion.
- Building, launching, and iterating on automated campaigns and triggered flows in Customer.io (or equivalent platforms like Iterable, Braze, or Klaviyo).
- Owning in-app messaging and transactional communications in partnership with product and engineering teams.
- Building and optimizing mobile push notification strategy, including permission flows, triggered/campaign-based pushes, frequency capping, and channel coordination with email.
- Developing segmentation and personalization strategies using behavioral and account data, including dynamic templating and conditional logic.
- Running a disciplined experimentation program with A/B tests on sequences, subject lines, timing, and offers, with clear holdouts and measurement.
- Managing email deliverability, list hygiene, and suppression strategy to protect sender reputation.
- Partnering with analytics to instrument and measure lifecycle performance against revenue outcomes (using Amplitude and similar tools).
- Collaborating with paid acquisition, product, and support teams to ensure coordinated messaging across the customer experience.
Optery is a fully remote global team. This position requires working regular U.S. business hours (Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones).
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience owning lifecycle, CRM, retention, or email marketing programs, ideally for subscription-based services.
- Fluency in a modern marketing automation platform (Customer.io, Iterable, Braze, Klaviyo) including segmentation, triggered workflows, and templating languages like Liquid.
- Strong copy instincts; ability to write clear, persuasive messaging and know when to test rather than debate.
- Comfort with data: ability to define metrics, pull reports, and interpret results honestly. SQL and product analytics experience are a plus.
- Understanding of email deliverability fundamentals and compliance (CAN-SPAM, GDPR/CCPA basics).
- Experience with AI and actively leveraging it in current workflows.
- Builder's mindset; energized by owning a function, not just executing tickets.
- Bonus: experience in privacy, security, or consumer subscription products; experience with both B2C and B2B messaging.
